Six Nations

HOme Ownership Loans

Pieter and Dominique Collin co-authored a paper for Six Nations of the Grand River. It  identifies First Nation governments and institutions in Canada that have successfully raised capital for the purpose of providing home-ownership loans to their members. The paper documents what worked for those nations, what didn’t, and why. It identifies potential solutions that might enable Six Nations to raise the capital needed for the growth of its successful housing loan fund. The paper focuses on the Aboriginal Savings Corporation of Canada’s methodology and offers a proposal as to how it might be adapted by Six Nations.
