In 2017, Pieter and co-author Dominique Collin published the First Nation Housing Loan Fund: Best Practices Guide. In preparation for this guidebook, the authors examined the policies and procedures of various First Nation housing loan funds, interviewed their staff, and visited their communities to see the on-the-ground results of operations that have been conducted over the last 40 years. The guidebook was sponsored by ‘Namgis First Nation and funded by Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.
